Welcome to Brinscall St John's CE/ Methodist Primary School.
On behalf of everyone at Brinscall St John’s CE/Methodist Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our school website. I hope you will find the information contained both helpful and informative. Our school is located in a beautiful rural setting. We have approximately 200 children on role, organised into 7 spacious classes. Our overall aim is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which our children can learn and experience a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum. It is a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of our school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.
We intend our pupils to acquire the skills and knowledge which will enable them to develop into adults who are confident and willing, caring and concerned, committed to their own development, yet aware of their responsibilities to others. We hope our pupils will gain independence of thought and action for their own well-being and happiness, and that of others.
We see your child’s education as a partnership between home, school, churches and the local community. Through working together we can provide effective teaching and learning for every child in an atmosphere of trust - where all are valued. We have close links with our local churches of St Paul’s, St Barnabas, Hillside Methodist and the Chorley Methodist Circuit. Our local clergy and many of their parishioners are frequent visitors in school. Our school was judged in January 2024 by Ofsted and was graded good. In February 2024 we also had or SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection. Both of these reports can be downloaded from our website.
We believe in providing the highest quality of education for all our children in a caring positive atmosphere based firmly upon Christian values. We try to ensure that St John's is a friendly and thriving place and invite you to share in its life.
I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. If you would like to request a paper copy of any information on our website please contact our school office, who will provide this for you free of charge. Please feel free to contact our school with any direct queries you have, and if you would like to visit then please contact me and I will be delighted to show you our school in action.
