Art and Design Statement of Intent
At Brinscall St John’s, we understand that a high quality art and design education can inspire and engage pupils, allowing them to express their creativity through drawing, painting and sculpting.
Through focused art and design sessions and further links throughout the whole curriculum, we aim to provide children with regular opportunities to work creatively, explore ideas and record experiences.
It is our intention that children’s mental and spiritual health will be fostered through an appreciation of art, and that they will develop a proficiency in art that will open up opportunities as they progress through life. We want children to know about great artists, craft makers and designers and their impact within God’s world. Further to this, we intend for our children to recognise the art that surrounds them in God’s world and how they can use their art to shine with the light of Jesus.
