Welcome to our Worship and Prayer page! At our school, we believe that collective worship is an essential part of our community life, providing an inclusive, invitational, and inspiring environment for all. Every day, we gather together for Collective Worship, creating a wonderful opportunity for pupils and staff to come together as one. Our worship is designed to engage and uplift, allowing everyone to connect with the spiritual dimension of life in a meaningful and reflective way.

Collective Worship gives our pupils and staff the chance to participate in an act of community, which is so integral to our school ethos. In these moments, we express our praise and thanksgiving to God, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and joy. We also carve out space to be still and reflect, encouraging everyone to pause and consider their thoughts and feelings. Worship serves as a platform for exploring the big questions of life, enabling our school community to respond thoughtfully to national events and the world around us.

Our worship is about fostering respect and deepening spiritual awareness, allowing us to reflect on the character of God and the teachings of Christ. By doing so, we aim to affirm Christian values and attitudes that resonate throughout our school culture. It's not just about spiritual growth; it's a chance for pupils to share in each other’s joy and challenges, creating bonds that go beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, we also take time to celebrate special occasions within the Christian calendar, offering a rich tapestry of experiences for everyone involved.

So, what does our week look like?

Each Monday, we kick off the week with whole school worship, where everyone comes together to start the week on a positive note. On Tuesdays, our Key Stage 1 children have collective worship within their classes, while the Key Stage 2 children gather together as a key stage. This routine switches on Wednesdays, ensuring that every child experiences worship in different contexts. On Thursdays, we are especially delighted to welcome Rev. Hilsden and Rev. Clayton, who come into our school to lead our whole school worship, adding their unique perspectives and gifts to our community time. Finally, Fridays are the icing on the cake, as we all come together to celebrate our achievements and reflect on the week as a school family.

But that’s not all! We believe that empowering our pupils is crucial, and as such, there are regular opportunities for children to take the lead in worship services both within the school and at the church. One of our brilliant initiatives is our school ethos group, affectionately known as ‘The Shining Flames’. This enthusiastic group takes the reins by planning and delivering worship regularly, ensuring that every voice is heard and celebrated.

Throughout the academic year, we also visit all three of our local churches for special services such as Harvest, Christmas, and Easter. These occasions provide a wonderful chance for our school community to engage in the wider church family, sharing in spiritual celebrations that enrich our lives. And let’s not forget about Education Sunday, where we invite members from all our church congregations to join us for a day of celebration and reflection.

Additionally, our pupils and staff are encouraged to reflect on the worship they experience and its impact on their spiritual journeys. These reflections help individuals consider how worship influences their personal growth and development, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and their values.

At our school, we are committed to nurturing not only academic excellence but also spiritual growth. Each act of worship is a vital thread in the rich tapestry of our community, promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging us to grow together in faith. We look forward to sharing these moments of joy, reflection, and celebration with our entire school family, and we invite you to join us on this exciting spiritual journey!
