In Year Admissions

In Year Admissions Information

If your child is already school age and you would like to discuss applying for a place at our school, please contact Mrs Clayton, Headteacher to make an appointment.  This may be because you have either moved into the school area or wish to change your child's current school.  Before you apply to change schools, you should ideally speak to your child’s current school prior to contacting us.

How to apply

You will be asked to complete an In Year Admissions Form for every child (i.e. one each for twin/sibling) who requires a school place.  The In Year Admissions Form can be downloaded from below. A word document or copy can be provided upon request.

In Year Admissions managed through school can only take place subject to places being available in the appropriate year group.

How we manage the process

At our school, the in-year admissions are administered by the Governing Body of our school and forms must be submitted to the Headteacher at school, Mrs L Clayton (head@brinscall.lancs.sch.uk).  Your application will be processed by the Governing Body in line with our current Admissions Arrangements.

Notification of outcome

We will acknowledge receipt of your application and then write to you with the outcome within a maximum of 15 school days (this does not include weekends or school holidays).

If our school has places, you will be offered a place via email.  You must contact school within 5 school days of the offer date to arrange school admission. The expectations is that your child will be admitted to the school within 15 school days after the school offer notification.

If our school does not have any places, you will be notified via email to contact Lancashire County Council area office to be advised of local availability.  You also have the right of appeal if you are unsuccessful with your application and parents/carers can submit an appeal to Lancashire County Council through the following website link:
