Traditional Tales with a Twist
During this half term we are looking at Traditional Tales with a Twist and we are focusing on some of the most well-known stories from around the world. We have looked at Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, Three Billy Goats Gruff and many more.
As inspiration for our new stories we have been thinking about Shrek, as this wonderful (and hilarious) film hosts many of the characters from the stories we have looked at.
Because Shrek is so much fun, we decided to build him a house and recreate his swamp in a creative corner of our school field. We dug out lots of weeds and brambles and created an exciting area that is going to be used to help us with our English unit.
We created Shrek's house, Donkey's Den, a relaxing seating area and even opened up a viewing platform so we could use the wonderful views of Brinscall as inspiration for our story writing and art work.
Check out our before and after pictures below and keep your eyes peeled for other classes sharing our new area with us.
